These silver lime boxes from Northern Thailand are of the highest quality depicting Hanuman popularly known as the monkey god in the Thai Ramayana tales. Suvannamachha is a mermaid princess falls in love with Hanuman, the commander of the monkey army. She helped him and the hero Rama free Rama's wife Sita from the clutches of the demon Ravana who is the mermaid's own father.
